You know, eris, it tool me a couple minutes to catch the "Cats Laughing" reference...and I didn't think you liked some of those older Claremont background X-Men characters...

Uh huh.
Lead singer was (the band has since broken up) Emma Bull, writer of many fine fantasy & science fiction stories. Stephen Brust, a slightly better known fan/sci-fi writer played guitar, I think. I don't know if you'd remember, but there was one cameo they made, where Kitty asked Emma where Lojo was, and Emma told her Lojo was sick, and Falcon was filling in for her. "Falcon" is actually the title character in one of Emma's books.
I never did quite find out what the connection between Ms. Bull and Mr. Claremont is, but I know that she was quite active in several group writing projects (if you have the time and patience, track down the borderland series, it's out there, and it's worth it.)

And hey, if you were so impressed with me pulling that quote out of my... sleeve, why'd you go and change it?

Very cool. I recently reread Mojo Mayhem, one of the Excalibur books. They had a cute scene with Kitty and the band. They gave her an official roadie sweatshirt. I don't think she was ever shown wearing it outside of that book, but it was still neat.

Mojo Mayhem is the book that stuck in myhead the whole band thing to begin with...that was the reason why I thought they were made up...again, my insistence on listening to AM Sports Talk Radio displays my ignorance of the music scene...oh well...How about them Cubs? I hear it's their year...heh...

Honestly, I don't think Cats Laughing ever really made it to the music scene outside of Minneapolis, and certain Excalibur books.
But I still like them, though.
